As others have said, his speech was not called \u201c<em>I Have a Nightmare.<\/em>\u201d\r\n\r\nFor decades, our culture has struggled with two addictions, to oil and to despair. It\u2019s pretty clear by now that we can\u2019t kick one of those habits without kicking the other. Yet, for many Americans, perhaps most of us, thinking about the future conjures up images of \u201cBlade Runner,\u201d \u201cMad Max\u201d or Cormac McCarthy\u2019s \u201cThe Road\u201d: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachmentortexts.com\/2012\/01\/dystopian-vs-post-apocalyptic.html\" target=\"_blank\">a post-apocalyptic <\/a>dystopia stripped of nature. We seem drawn to that flame.\r\n\r\nIt\u2019s a dangerous fixation.
