GreenDustries reduce the emission of CO2

GreenDustries reduce the emission of CO2. At GreenDustries, environmental stewardship and establishing an environmental leadership position in leading by example is at the core of our mission.
All our packaging products are made with 100% recycled paper or with organic 100% biodegradable/compostable clear transparent films and are the champions of source reduction. All the raw materials used in GreenDustries packaging have food contact certifications.

Our products environmental impacts saving are; By replacing the majority of the (sandwich/burger and finger foods, paper based only!) disposable packaging used by fast- food outlets in North America, Europe and the Pacific Realm by our products, the following are facts about our positive environmental impact.

  • We saving: 3,480,000 Metric tons of CO2, SO2, NOx each year.
  • 570,480,00 cu ft. of Pure Air saved each year.

Atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases are affected by the total amount of greenhouse gases emitted to and removed from the atmosphere around the world over time. Forests act as a major carbon store because carbon dioxide (CO2) is taken up from the atmosphere and used to produce the carbohydrates, fats, and proteins that make up the tree. When forests are cleared, and the trees are either burnt or rot, this carbon is released as CO2. This leads to an increase in the atmospheric CO2 concentration. CO2 is the major contributor to the greenhouse effect. It is estimated that deforestation contributes one-third of all CO2 releases caused by people.
Permanent removal of standing forests leads to CO2 emissions because the carbon sequestered in trees is emitted to the atmosphere and not counter-balanced by re-growth of new trees. Typically, CO2 is either emitted quickly through burning or slowly through decomposition over time. Deforestation is a significant source of carbon dioxide emissions globally.
Converting marginal agricultural land to forests may help slow the increase of carbon in the atmosphere, according to model-based results obtained by NASA scientists using space-based Earth observations and a state-of-the-art ecosystem model. A great concern is the rate at which deforestation is occurring. Currently, 12 million hectares of forests are cleared annually – an area 1,3 times the size of KwaZulu/Natal! Almost all of this deforestation occurs in the moist forests and open woodlands of the tropics. At this rate all moist tropical forest could be lost by the year 2050.
CO2 and Climate change is a problem that is affecting people and the environment. Greater energy efficiency and new technologies hold promise for reducing greenhouse gases and solving this global challenge. EPA’s website provides information on climate change for communities, individuals, businesses, states, localities and governments.
Finally, the argument between those that passionately believe humans have and do destroy the planet and those that believe it’s a crock of shit will no doubt continue to rage. The reality probably lies somewhere in between. Whether or not gradually rising global temperatures come as a direct and sole result of Co2 emissions appears less clear. Do we release Co2? Of course we do. We know by isotopic distributions that rising Co2 appears correlated to the burning of fossil fuels.

GreenDustries leads in the three fundamental environmental rules otherwise known as the three R’s: Reduce Recycle Reuse. Source Reduction is considered by the EPA, the UN and all NGOs to be the most efficient way to reduce the negative impact packaging has on the environment; GreenDustries is using substantially less raw material in our products when compared to all other producers of analog packaging in QSR segments. To illustrate, our products can save up to 40% paper when compared to the smallest hamburger wraps and up to 85% when compared to the widely used clamshells. In most cases, our products are made with paper that is 100% recycled, post-industrial, pre-consumer, and when recovering our production waste, we reuse it in our packaging again. The rest of the waste is composted. We do all of the above while providing a superior package in every respects.

Our paper policy reflects our understanding of issues relating to the environment, CO2 emission, biodiversity, and climate change, including the protection of endangered forests and sustainable forestry practices.

Our commitment to our corporate environmental goals is also manifest in our communications and partnerships with our customers, suppliers and environmental NGOs. These relationships and shared values of environmental stewardship are an integral part in our efforts to green the disposable packaging industry.

Sorry, let me try to explain, all fast food packaging are made with cartons or paper that are harvested from healthy forests.
Our packaging come from recycled carton or paper, we are totally “green” we “Reduce (the waste), Recycle and Reuse all the discard paper or cartons material”
http://www.greendustries.com/#/enviroFacts, check this page in our website and you will understand where and how we save.
    Thank you.
